I have spent years looking for an American supplier of a tannin-based boiler treatment. With traditional sulfate treatments, I feel like I am always playing chemist, never sure if my boiler has the right concentration for effective treatment. Tannins make it very easy to see the concentration. As they are used up by the oxygen, the color changes making it easy to see if your dosing needs to be changed. Additionally, I have found that I have to blowdown about half as often. The tannins do an amazing job preventing foaming even under high TDS conditions. Finally, with a borescope I have seen the inside of the boiler become cleaner with less scale as well as gaining a protective black magnetite coating. I'm using less fuel to produce more steam. This is a great product and a must-have for any boiler!
